Quiet on the site, not inactive

Project · Life of AI — in progress

Been a little quiet on here the last few days, but definitely not inactive.

The past five days have been packed with a mix of client work, lead generation, development, and experimenting with new systems.

A few things I have been working on behind the scenes:

  • Chasing and researching a solid amount of new leads
  • Putting together proposals and following up with potential clients
  • Working through multiple website redesigns, UI/UX directions, and branding concepts
  • Building out marketing and content strategies for different types of businesses
  • Exploring better ways to automate outreach, lead research, and repetitive business workflows
  • Working on scheduling/booking functionality and other reusable development tools
  • Improving my portfolio, resume, GitHub presence, and overall positioning as a developer
  • Preparing for conversations around paid ads, analytics, CRM systems, conversion tracking, and marketing automation
  • Continuing to experiment with AI-assisted development while keeping the focus on actually shipping quality work

A lot of different moving pieces right now, so posting took a back seat for a few days.

But that is also kind of the point of Life of AI — documenting what it actually looks like to use AI alongside development, marketing, design, automation, and running the day-to-day side of getting work.

What I need to sit down with today

I really need to sit down today and figure out how to keep getting clients without letting lead work eat the hours that should be producing a substantial public portfolio.

Lead research, proposals, and follow-ups matter. They also become a time sink if every day is hunting and none of it turns into visible product proof. The portfolio is what makes the next conversation easier. I need both lanes honest: keep the pipeline moving, and stop treating unfinished apps as optional side quests.

Lazy Ass Fitness is around 70% done. That is close enough to be a real MVP production landing page — something I can put in front of people, sell MVP packages against, and use as proof instead of another plan. With AI-assisted development, getting the remaining slice out the right way in about two weeks feels realistic if I protect the time for it.

The other piece that feels like gold right now is an interviewer tool: an AI chat that extracts what a client is actually looking for in their project and helps turn that conversation into clear specs. Less vague discovery. Better requirements. Faster proposals. And if I build it cleanly, it is also a strong open-source portfolio tool — useful to other freelancers and agencies, and visible proof of how I think about client intake.

So the focus for today is not inventing a new strategy. It is choosing where the hours go: keep client acquisition moving without wasting cycles on low-leverage lead busywork, finish the Lazy Ass Fitness MVP path, and start shaping the interviewer/spec tool into something shippable.

More soon. Still building. Still learning. Still chasing opportunities.
